stupid photo keeps disappearing from my last post so i am leaving it off. Well its freezing here, -6 during the day, making loads of snow for us on the runs, but snowed a lot this evening, and during the day. At least we are getting fit, mind you the apres vous drinks are probably keeping that in the negative. The other day my silly teenage son and his equally silly friend overshot the lift and knocked me out before the chair was about to come up, we ended up in a pile while the lift operators laughed and stopped the chair whilst i abused both of them, there was a long queue by the time we got back up to the chair. Idiots.

Let it snow pleeease

im now in the aussie alps, it did snow, but now its raining, so no skiing today, and unless it snows in the next 24 hours there prob wont be any snow to ski on! this is the view down to the road from my apartment. It was early this morning so the light is a bit blue.

This is the base of the slope, my daughter(the blondie) and her friend jessie 2 days ago, having loads of fun.
And this is Sallie and me on a walk around the mountain, not enough snow to ski on there, but was a lovely day.

this is the raggy quilt i made for my little girls 14th birthday, i had to sew like a woman possessed  (more than usual) to get it finished in time, which was no small feat considering i hadnt even done all the squares and had three days to complete a queen bed sized quilt.  But i did it, and she loves it,  now i thought that i would start another one and marg helped me with the selection of colours (thank you margie) and i have cut out most of the fabric, so now i can relax and let it sit for a while!

In the meantime a cake was baked, i used a good ole womans weekly recipe, which included a whole(omg) 250g bar of chocolate, 4 eggs, and a few other ingredients, it came out a bit flat  but was still good. Again she loved it so another winner!

Then the biggest, er, oldest kid got out the sparklers and poppers !

Infinity and beyond!

Holycow, i've been away for a while, been over to the other side of the country for a potential job for my other half. We flew to Perth then up to Port Hedland, which was both interesting and boring, the town is boring, but the people are interesting! Actually there was building works in progress to make it more attractive and there was the most amazing dress shop there with more designer clothes than i had ever seen in one place, but I didnt have enough time to really look properly oh it was a shop i could live in! So many clothes not enough time.
It was very warm around 30c not bad for winter, summer is a killer though at temps around 40-45c. We had been to the area before, so not much new there, all red dirt and spinifex right up to the coast, although there were some nice palms on the coast, and the house we liked was brand new, huge and right on the coast. But i am staying put as our children are at a critical stage of their schooling.

Then it was back to Perth where we caught up with some long time friends which was fabulous. We stayed at the Hyatt thankyou very much, which was also fabulous. Perth hasnt changed much since i was last there, but Fremantle which is lovely has loads of coffee shops, and markets in the old port warehouses. We drove up the coast on our way up to the city which was pretty, and had a lovely lunch in Kings Park which overlooks the city, very nice.
So now i have been busy in the lead up to our daughters 14th brthday, will load the pics of that in next post! Mammoth effort there!
